Flags adorn Terrebonne Pioneer Cemetery on Memorial Day. Terrebonne has the graves of several distinguished Oregon veterans, including Robert “Bob” Dale Maxwell, who for some years was the nation’s oldest living Medal of Honor recipient for his valor in World War II.On Memorial Day more than 1,700 flags grace downtown Redmond as well as the highways leading to it. Redmond is officially, by designation of Congress, “Flag City USA.” The city has had major flag displays on every patriotic holiday every year since 1991 . Redmond citizens pay for the flags and take great pride in participating in placing them.
